This was a university project that I worked on together with my colleague and good friend Eva for a class called User Interfaces. We designed a mobile application called Študentska vadba, which provided different types of recreational activities to students at affordable prices. It was the first project where Eva and I worked together from start to finish, covering everything from research to design. We focused heavily on creating a seamless user experience, ensuring that the app was easy to navigate and catered to the specific needs of students.
Our process began with thorough market research to understand the current landscape and identify opportunities for improvement. We then conducted user surveys and interviews. This helped us gather diverse insights and uncover pain points from various perspectives. Based on this research, we created personas to represent key user groups and mapped out the app’s information architecture to ensure a smooth user flow.
With a clear foundation in place, we moved on to developing wireframes, which allowed us to visualize the app’s layout and structure. We also established design guidelines to ensure consistency and cohesion throughout the app. After completing the wireframes, we carried out simple usability tests with friends to gather initial feedback. While this provided valuable insights, we also planned for more comprehensive testing later in the design process.
The result of our project was a fully designed mobile application, which we presented to the team at Študentska vadba. While they were initially enthusiastic about our work, they ultimately decided not to proceed with developing their product as a mobile app. Despite this, the experience was incredibly valuable for us. It was the first time we had taken on a project like this from start to finish, and we learned a great deal throughout the process. From research to design, this project gave us a deeper understanding of how to approach user-centered design and deliver a solution that meets both business and user needs.
